Great Games

Here’s an unexpected site for geography fun. The BBC’s rich Science & Nature area has lots of great geography-related games and quizzes.

Our favorites are these interactive sea life games. Travel the ocean as a fish, visit shore and sea habitats, take part in the (sea) food chain, and much more. Dive in!

I took a look at the games and found there to be questionable links to other games in the ad box at the bottom of the game. If your site is FOR KIDS, this is totally unacceptable. As a parent and my children's educator, I will not allow my kids to use anything that will present them with images that are unfit for their ages. As much as your site interest me in using it for supplementing my children's education, I will not use it if this problem isn't fixed. I strongly feel that ads that would link a child outside of a children's site is wrong and can lead to terrible results. If you truely care about children, you will see that this becomes a safe zone for their learning.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The link to the game in question has been removed from My Wonderful World.

I encouraged my 9 year old son to get on this website after reading about it in my National Geographic. He went into the Geosense game and when I checked on him I was shocked to see on the chat board F**K and B**CH in the first 30 seconds I looked at it. He went in through your link and I am very dissapointed and angry. I thought this would be a child-safe site where I didn't have to hover and make sure he wasn't seeing anything inappropriate. He's getting knowledge alright, but not the kind I expected for a site sponsored by National Geographic.
